Broke an old axe handle a few years ago, put the axe head aside to either repair or repurpose. I'm getting ready to buy an offset smoker, so I figured a kindling splitter was the way to go. I'm an amateur when it comes to welding, so it's always good to get some practice. First time I've welded rebar.
So far, so good. Split about a half dozen pieces of oak using a 2.5lb hammer. The splitter is very rigid and seems like it will hold up to some abuse.
