I mean... we’re talking what... a box or two of ammo.

It’s not like you’re buying 1000rds... buy what you need, whenever you can find it.

Exactly. You should be able to sight it in in 2 or 3 rounds, literally. If you shoot one box of shells at deer in multiple years you either have a huge freezer(s) or are a REALLY bad shot and need to take up golf.

So, buy it when you find it.

If you have a box of 20,
or even a partial box of maybe 10 rounds,
that should be sufficient to confirm your zero for a cold bore shot,
and then you've got several extra rounds to actually kill several deer with.

I’d buy it when I could find it ! Took me 2 months to find 2 box’s of 180 gr 300 win mag for rifle I bought last fall !
