I don't quite understand those who think the AK or SKS owners will be the only ones hurting from this importation ban. These companies import millions of 9mm, .308, .223, .45acp, .380, and on and on. Russian ammunition is a huge portion of overall ammo sales in the US. A LOT of shooters buy and use Russian steel cases because they can more easily afford it.
This is nothing more than a power play against our way of life. It has nothing to do with Russia, and everything to do with US gun owners.

I'm sure other manufacturers based outside of Russia, will see this ban as an opportunity. I'd guess we'll be seeing more low cost steel from Turkey and other countries by the end of the year. Russian makers can always farm out the production too.
Don't think it affects gun prices though. A future administration can always reverse it.
