Have the grandkids over every other weekend. Saturday and Sunday morning it's cheese grits with bacon and sausage.

I like to find country ham end pieces and trimmings. I put that in the food processor and grind it up. I add it to my grits water when I start it. I let the water boil for a bit to extract the salt and flavor and then add the grits and cook as usual. Best grits you'll ever eat.
