Hot Take: Chicken Wings kind of suck

See, you talk and you don't think anybody listens. It ain't like the household. We care.........🤣
Well, I appreciate that, but I've raised two little women that listen. They were taught that it is what men do...and if they want a good one, they better hear what he says and not what they think he means.

They also don't like chicken wings.

Can someone tell me why they are so popular? I could go the rest of my life and never eat them and not miss them. A guy I work with is borderline religious about "cold beer and hot wings." It's like a religious experience for him. I think it's another version of "ribs" for me. Everybody I know loves them, I can't be bothered. So, convince me...what's the deal with "wings?" :noidea:
Makes sense to me. Wings used to be poor people food. Just ask me I'll tell you. Me and the wife used to get the frozen bags of wings and cook two bags in the oven every Saturday night. One lemon pepper tray and one hot. BUT...they were $6.99 a bag back then! Now they cost as much as breasts. So what's the point? It's kinda like the Busch or Budweiser (at the same price) or the old $600.00 SKS story. Not much point in any of that. I guess if you hit Golden Corral on wing day that MIGHT make it worth it...but they wouldn't have any taste.
Oh and ribs? Only country style and at home. I ain't trying to have bbq sauce all over me in public.

Under $20 pound at the butcher. Well under that if you buy prime rib and cut your own.
About $7-8 pound sometimes when Kroger has rib roast on sale.

Wings are obviously cheaper but
Ribeyes just needs a little salt and pepper to be delicious, wings need seasoning and sauce and they're mostly bones so by time it's all said and done I'll take the ribeye.

When wings were super cheap it made more sense, but beef > chicken all day everyday day.
Speaking of.....it(rib roast) should be on sale next week at Publix.....for Easter

Because hot and spicy works with a cold beer.

You checked out the throw-away parts lately? Livers, gizzard, hearts? You can get pork chops cheaper.

rOmiLaYu rOmiLaYu Marketing.

People have bought into the idea they are fun & cheap food for parties or watching football games. However the truth is they are all bones, skin and little else. A good marketing campaign does wonders for an image!

I pass on them.... Too much trouble to eat, for a small amount of chicken.

That's it. I'll eat a wing or two, but after that I want a larger piece
