How come my stupid idea to sell something leaves me feeling more crazy than ridiculous.

How do you feel about the simple sale idea?

Not exactly. I was ripping the carpet out anyway, but the idea struck me, while I am cutting up a few pieces for an outdoor shed, a roll for the restoration or a bike I'm doing ( it is so nice to just roll it out, drive on it and not worry about drips and having some cushion, not even fooling with the creeper), cut out pieces for the back of the Tahoe for mulch (load it and just drag it out), heck even cut a piece for old Snout's pen for the winter hard floors.
Point is for all the uses you can get at a price cheaper than the cleaning products why, wouldnt you? Its almost 2,000 square feet. This isn't a get rich quick scheme by ruining good carpet but just a notion of yeah its different but why not?

IMO, it's your carpet so you use it however you want on your stuff if you don't want it thrown out

That's allot to read, nobody wants old carpet despite how good the owner thinks it is and if you're concerned with it going to waste donate it to Habitat For Humanity or some other place that can use it. Usually places won't take donations old mattresses or carpet because of mites and other unseen things. From what I've read you want to SELL the old carpet ?

Sell, piecemeal hauling it all out not having to pay for the landfill. Yes it is second hand carpet but so is every inch of the civilized world. I'm not saying put it in your bedroom. I even steam cleaned it before I finally caved and decided to go with a new color. I mean if it was terrible carpet than yes, crazy to offer someone else, but it looks like it just got pulled out of the plastic at Shaw. Are people that weirder out by used that they don't want to use it for trash applications? Who has bought a used car? Are you just as happy sitting in the ads sweat soaked foam under that leatherette from the person who sat there for 50,000 sweaty, fast food fueled miles? Geez, bunch of yuppies ;) For the record, I don't care about the paltry money that would be made; I am just trying to figure out people and their phobias/ignorance/hangups one asinine point at a time .

Finish the poll first, then you can WTF jk. Goldurn, its not like I gave it that much thought initially. I knew it was not going to be the next big thing (my humor is very dry so this is all a little tongue in cheek) or I was going to get thousands of calls but, again, this can easily and should be used for areas that see oil or lots of dirt like an outside building.
I even steam cleaned it and its pristine. Some houses, I understand, I would never even want to breathe the dust just rolling the stuff up. Otherwise, when did carpet become so leprous? Learned something today, useless, but something lol. I would have just given it away but the headache had to be worth a buck.

No offense, but that sounds like something my BIL would do. He hates to throw away anything. He has lumber all around his house that he doesn't want to throw away because "man, this is a good piece of wood I could build something with". He's never built anything in his life. He has probably six old lawnmowers that he keeps, none of which run, because "they still have some good parts". He has an old pinball machine from the 80's in his basement that has never worked because "I could put it on ebay some day".

What's my point? Just let it go, man. Let it go. :)

If you have a piece of carpet in the garage for your bike........ And drive the bike in........ And hit the front brake....... Oops

Lol how fast would you be going. You don't have to evil kineval it. Just walk her halfway. Garages are full of slow moving children and fishing rods that have fallen at a dangerous, almost unseen angle...drive with care or snap another shimano
