I was just outside listening to fireworks in the distance when it occurred to me that there are many many people (good people) around the world that would hear the same thing and be filled with fear and dread for their families safety instead of thinking our independence day celebration is almost here. Rarely do i have these thoughts but it just hit me tonight.

Be thankful for all you have rather than envious of what others have. Be present for your family and friends especially in the hard times. Celebrate life's ups and downs. Try new and strange foods and be thankful you can turn your nose up and never have to eat something you don't enjoy out of necessity. Celebrate the freedom we all have to do and say what we feel is right rather than doing and saying what we are forced to by our government.

Never forget that we live in the greatest country on earth!!!

Amen, brother! You are right! We won the lottery by being born American! And some of us who were fortunate enough to have been born American, were also lucky enough to have been born to loving families, and some into Southern families. God bless us all. And, God bless our beautiful USA.

More than alright! Despite what my wife says, I may even be growing up!

All kidding aside, I'm usually the most abrasive sarcastic asshole around but the thoughts above just kind of smacked me about 7 minutes prior to the post. These are thoughts I've long felt but haven’t put into words before.

Happy independence day to all!! If you don't drink, don't worry I'm gonna have 4 for you! And some venison bulgogi.
