How many generations of the Glock 36?

If you want the .45, look at the G30, G30S if you can find it. You won't be disappointed.
I'm trading an old G30 because one of us is too fat to get it in my jeans. I can only carry it OWB and summer is here and OC isn't my way. Haven't been able to find a 30s anywhere for trade but I agree. Just can't afford much more than an even swap right now.

If that's the case, I don't think the 36 is answer. I believe they have the same dimensions on the slide(someone correct me if I'm wrong.) Maybe it's 1911 time?

The 36 IS the Glock to fit your situation. I'm a hard core 1911 guy and the 36 is the only .45 Glock that comes close to the thinness of a 1911. It's very different in feel from even the 19 which is similar in size. It's a very thin frame and slide and that's why many don't like it. The 30s still has the thick 30 grip so that won't solve your issues. The 36 is a love it or hate it gun. I added the pearce +1 (PG-36) extensions on my mags for a full grip and it's a great alternative to carrying a 1911.

Cool. Now I'm wondering if they were/are still in production, why do you only see used ones for sale?

That's good question. I bought mine used this weekend from another member on the ODT and my other one was a used purchase also. I will say I was surprised also at the newer build date but I'm certainly not going to complain. :)

I'm convinced. I'll have to contact Smyrna to find out about the upgrades. That was my whole reason for this thread. I wanted the G36 but I didn't want to invest in a carry weapon only to find out that the upgrades weren't available till the next generation. They're already in production, why aren't they on the G36 now? Thanks guys, very helpful.

Maybe it was a refurb? Not sure how Glock marks those when they do that.
