I could never kill a animal that was not trying to kill me. i love all Gods animals.
How would you like to be walking in the woods and BAM somebody shoots you for no reason?

Wild game is MORE humane that a steak from the butcher. At least wild deer get to live free until a predator comes along. Cattle are bread purely for slaughter, but it certainly doesn't stop me from enjoying a steak or venison.
Humans are animals, we have to eat just like deer do. We lack horns or claws as a weapon and were instead blessed with a very capable brain that allows us to fashion our own talons to take our prey.

Trapped small game in the past.
I have deer on my property. Saw two different does and two bucks on and off all year. Fully intend to have fresh meat next fall.
Would not mind having a wild pig problem. A Vepr would take care of its namesake.

Do not have a clue how to dress the deer, though.

I used to hunt a lot, but the older I get the less I have a desire to kill animals. I will if I want meat, as wild game is much better for the environment than the farm raised variety and the animals had a much better existence.

Bird hunting only as I hunt only what I will eat (I hate the taste of deer! ... And DON'T post recipes ... I've tried them ALL!!!)

i haven't hunted in many many years but my big game license is current. i even catch and release when i fish. i did go bow hunting (as an observer) in blue ridge a couple of years ago and got the fun of trackin the blood trail (i love trackin, somethin really primal about it). i aint got any issues with killin somethin, i just haven't done any killin in a long time

I always get a chuckle when I hear this. I used to do a lot of snipe hunting growing up. As in actual snipe hunting. You just 'think' you're a good wing shot and/or stalker until you try and do that in a harvested field with not even topo change for cover.

We had 8 kids in the family. Hunting was part of eating. Only deer hunt. Maybe turkey this year.
