We go shooting few times a month, weather depending. We need to work a more efficient set up at our shooting spot. We do not do much in way of drills. We do more plinking than focused practicing as of late. Prolly do some more training with someone after first of year. Dropped Monte an email...

I go a couple of times a month usually. Try to spend enough time to shoot a box of ammo through all my "carry" guns. Usually shoot 2 to 3 hrs but lately, I must admit, I have not been to the range as much as I would like. Looking at getting into IPSC shooting so hopefully things will change!

I was going to the range 2 times a month, but now it's once a month. doing a lot of wedding plans and going back to school. I don't know tactical drills, no one has ever showed me.

living only 30 seconds from 2 new ranges i go quite often. i take the wife also. getting my son into shooting also, he is 7. taking him up to our property in SC next week while he is out of school to let him shoot his first "real" gun.

I average 4 times a month and do dry fire drills daily. Range days are full days for me because I practice with a lot of different weapons. I focus on one weapon only per day on the dry fire drills.

It's great to see so many people actually get out and shoot/train so much instead of just having theoretical knowledge.

One thing that I would encourage everyone to do is to take yourself out of your comfort zone...
don't just practice what you're already good at or only when the weather is good.

I used to be guilty of this but now I go out in all kinds of conditions.

Want to see how smooth your drawstroke from concealment is? Try it when it's 35 degrees outside & the wind is blowing and you're fingers are numb... and let's not forget reloading drills, malfunction clearances, & shooting in lowlight conditions... awesome practice opportunity shooting in the winter between it being dark at 5:30 or 6:00 and being so cold.

I'm sure many of the members here already do this but as I perceive it one of the great things about this forum is being able to trade idea's & help each other become better at using our firearms to protect ourselves & our families.

By exchanging ideas & exploring "what if's" with each other, I like to think we're doing all we can to prepare for that terrible event where despite our best efforts at preventing it, someone decides to try to victimize us or our families...and that they do so at GREAT risk to THEIR life & welfare.

Several years ago I got to the range at least once a week for a 5-8 hour session, to do rifle and pistol drills and use up around a thousand rounds a week. Now that I'm unemployed I don't get to live fire anymore and haven't shot a gun in going on five years now. I also had a pretty bad motorcycle crash in 2006 that put me in a wheelchair for a while and knocked me out of my VP job at a construction company in Chattanooga as well as managing to take my entire life's savings in the process. So now I'm broke and outta work without any good prospects on the horizon for any job really, temp agencies won't even return my calls and emails. I keep applying to the ads and sending out resumes, around a thousand this month alone all over the country, but no hits so far.
