How often? How many rounds?

More often and more rounds the better if you need it. But they're right. It ain't cheap. I need to get back to it. I know it's coming. Just got to get there. Dry firing and going through drills at home will help. As far as how much, depends on your skill set and how much you want to improve. 22LR can help a long ways
I got mad skillz.

For years I've gone to the range a couple of times a month and sometimes more. Each time I go its normally 50-150 rounds. I also normally shoot a few hundred 22lr in the back yard a month. Shooting has been a hobby and a way to relax. I haven't pulled a trigger other than 12ga at armadillos in a couple of months. Zero interest

I try to go twice a month and a box of 50 per gun. Usually either my Macro and my LCP Max, or G19 and LCP Max.

With winter coming I like to take a couple classes (they’re outdoor) and may shoot a bit more.

Do you practice driving nails with a hammer?
No - but I almost never carry a hammer for self defense. A tomahawk from time to time, but almost never a hammer.

I have also discovered while using a hammer, that should I miss the nail head the board being affixed only rarely attempts to kill me while I adjust my aim.

Went yesterday. Shot at 5,7,10y and went through over 200rds of different calibers and multiple platforms - slow, fast and everything in between. My buddy showed up and he had multiple platforms that I also shot. When I go I shoot quite a bit

I had two guests join me this morning and we shot steel for a couple hours. I think I shot their stuff better than my own. But I didn’t even think to pull out some hammers and nails. Dammit.

Whatcha say?? My ears are ringing........ :becky:

So what do you consider “actual training”? I mainly shoot for fun on my range and to work on my aim with whichever gun I’m enjoying that day. I try and stay proficient with all that I have and may carry. I work on drawing and quick site acquisition around the house. But other than that, don’t really “train”.
