How to make a burn barrel with barrel and ammo

Wasted 8 minutes on that. Sigh. I actually got to ventilate our burn barrels back in my yute, with a 22lr bolt action and 5-10 shells. It all happened because we had an unventilated burn barrel and a spell of rain one winter just before a hard freeze. The barrel had 6-10 inches of water in the bottom and it froze. Then I was called upon to help my dad load the barrel on his old GMC pickup to dump the contents. Except we couldn't pick it up. He figured out what the problem was, found some old 2x6 boards and, using them as a ramp, we rolled the barrel into the bed of the truck, struggling all the way.

When we got back from the dump he got the rifle from the house and let me put holes in the bottom of the barrel. It was a fun job then and even now I still chuckle about it. To this day I love watching younger relatives shoot rimfire rifles and handguns, like a recent weekend where 400 rounds were fired and everyone was safe and had a great time.

I have found that as much fun it is to shoot holes through a steel barrel,

stabbing giant holes through it with the sharpened end of a pickaxe works better especially if AFTER you PENETRATE , which first creates a square hole,

then twist the tool around to make the hole more or less ROUND and something like an 1.5" diameter.
THAT lets a lot more air in than a magazine full of ammo from a 22 cal /5.5 mm gun.
