Stupid question but would anyone ever use tire chains on 4 by's?
Traction. You can have a 20x20, and it makes no difference without traction

Put that 4x4 on ice and watch all 4 wheels spin, or trying to stop watch all 4 lock and slide. Are you guys thinking off road or the fiasco from yesterday?
Good hiking bootsI am moreso wanting to know about yesterday type scenarios. Offroad joyriding, hunting, bogging would all be way down my list.

I have owned several samurais and i can promise you a bone stock one with skinny tires is gonna out perform any lifted one with oversized tires. I honestly feel a samurai is a little light for icy roads but the size is gonna make up for it. It will be easy to get around other people.
FWIW I drove my chevy astro work van every where last night passing 4x4 trucks left and right. I have a 2500 GMC and a Toyota Tacoma lifted on 35s as well and they stayed at home while the little astro with 3 tons of tools was tearing the roads up like any othe day
A wider tire is gonna spread the weight out more over the ice and give you less tractionGood info....so a couple hundred xtra pounds or more loaded in the back would help it seems. Why would a lifted/bigger tired suzuki be worse tho?
