Hunted With Black Powder for the First...and Last Time

Some folks have really good luck with pellets, and I'll agree that they are a hell of a lot more convenient, but I've always gotten more reliable ignition out of granulated powders, especially in the rain. Pellets are generally harder to ignite even in dry weather, and if they soak up a little water from humid air, you are going to get bloopers and misfires.

This is based on my personal experience and observations. I figure there is always a trade-off when you go for convenience. Of course I've probably spooked a lot of critters cussing at my powder measure in the dark.
