Hunting for a Saiga .223.... Anyone seen one around ?

Seems the Saiga's are in the scarce category again - not long ago Classic Arms was selling 223's for $299. or something like that.

Centerfire is temp out of stock but you can back order - if you are willing to spend $379 that is:

I'd consider the 5.45 over 223 by the way in the AK-type...save a bundle on ammo

Thanks

I have actually considered that. But all the 5.45 ammo is heavily corrosive ?

Only the surplus ammo is corrosive, and is now close to the price of 7.62 when it can be found.
Aim surplus has a new shipment in of the 5.45 Russian ammo - 1080 round spam can for $164.00 plus $20.00 shipping. Or their Silver Bear non-corrosive for about the same price for 750 rounds.

I've been buying Wolf and Monarch 5.45 here locally. The new factory ammo is getting easier to find.

Ok, you got me thinking now.

Is there any other reason other than price for a benefit of 5.45 over 5.56 ?
