HVAC blower won’t turn off

Blower motor keeps running, couldn’t get heat or a/c to come on. It’s a Trane XE 1200 heat pump. Replaced capacitor got heat and a/c to work but blower motor continues to run. Old school mercury switch thermostat. What to check next?

I had the same thing happen last year. Was a co tell board on the furnace/blower. $400 fix.

It is most likely either the thermostat sending 24v out on G or a bad fan control relay in the air handler, if it is all electric.

Thanks, this will give me a place to start this weekend. Thankfully this unit supplies an addition and not the main house, so I got some time to figure it out.

Is this the fan control relay? Got to tapping on it and got the blower the shut off.

That is the transformer but the relay is next to it.
