Buy the XD9 for 350. They are underrated

Stoeger cougar is a solid choice in that price range. SR9 could be had for a few bucks more if a striker is more your flavor.

I am warming to it for sure. I had a Beretta 8000 in 40 a few years ago. Great shooter for sure

I had one of those Berettas (9040 I believe)also it never failed to fire it did however have sharp points that would need to be addressed if you intended to carry it or keep it under you pillow. I believe Stoeger bought the rights to make it so for all intensive purposes it would be the same so my comments may apply. I have not owned a XD of any sort but I have shot many, they are smooth shooting for sure, I would not hesitate to buy either but I would probably take the XD over the Cougar if those were my only 9mm choices

I'm leaning toward the Stoeger. Elite has them for $329 with integrated rail.
