I have some neighbors that really wished they lived in a HOA. Rather than putting their house up for sale and moving they beat up their neighbors with stupid stuff. Calling code enforcement for grass too long and nosy neighbor stuff.
Today I get up and find code enforcement has hung a warning notice on my mailbox.
Multiple vehicles parked on property without proper tag.
After going down to the Marshalls office. I find out that there is a local ordinance:
No inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked, kept, or stored on any premises.
I have 2 vehicles without plates in process of getting registered. One (2007 beetle) needs the convertible top repaired. The glass needs to be reglued in the cloth top.
The other keeps throwing a power steering pressure code which gives a check engine light which prevents me from getting an emissions certificate and a plate.
Anyone know of anything safe and close?
This law has been overturned by the courts. The requirement for tags, requires insurance, and the courts have ruled that If it's in your driveway (or other appropriate parking area other than the street), and not an eyesore, the city cannot require you to tag it and keep it insured. (Tagging requires insurance).
I may have to start a new thread with a reward for finding the case that is referenced
