I could really learn to hate my neighbors. Need to find the reference for the court case

If the intake manifold needs a gasket I would fix that, its cheaper, before you buy tools and glue for the bug I'd check with a body shop to get a price just my .02. It must be an Atlanta thing getting a car inspected before a tag unless its a salvage title, as far as check engine lights just pull the bulbs out until after inspection. I have never had to get a vehicle inspected so I don't know all that entails. You need to move to the country I have 4 vehicles and 3 boats my neighbors are jealous.

It is. When I was in college in Savannah, my car was still registered up in Fayette. I had to file waivers to postpone my emissions inspections until I was back in the metro area in order to avoid getting tickets for out of date tags. Try explaining that to cops who have little to no idea what an emission test is but think they have you dead to rights on a ticket...

From which North Eastern state did your nosy neighbors move from? We had a bunch of that type living in the Keys. Nothing better to do than drive around and find things to complain about. I see the same thing happening up here as we see more and more North Eastern types moving into the area. Thank God I live on 20 unrestricted acres and have no neighbors, as I don't make a good one. Good luck dealing with them. On the other hand, you could put a bunch of "obamma" stickers on the cars and they'd probably leave you alone.

The 98 dodge ram 1500 needs an intake manifold repair. $1600 quote to fix the manifold. I was going to replace the intake with a hughes/edelbrock and replace the cam while it was apart and figured it was $1600 in parts. So it sat. Cannot make registration current without emissions.
The 04 neon keeps throwing a power steering and some brake light code.
The 07 VW beetle needs to have the glass reglued in the convertible top before driving it enough to take it to emissions. Can't drive it as is

It would cost $200 per vehicle plus, plus, plus, to insure. I have expired tags on the truck and no tags just titles on the other two. the neon is covered by insurance. not on the other two.

I have been working on getting the Neon registered but it keeps throwing a code.

I have ordered some tools to help glue the VW convertible top. Its a almost perfect beautiful car! Red and needs one or two things fixed before putting it up for sale. Used value on this one is $7k
Holy ****.
I’ll get back into mechanics if that simple repair pays that.
I’ll guarantee it’s the plate on the bottom of the intake. Just needs a gasket. Replace that and the intake gasket set, probably about $100 or less in parts and about 2.5-3 hours labor.

Now that I think about it, the quote was the entire job. Camshaft and all. The guy said he would overhaul the engine for $100 more or $1700

Maybe it's time to get rid of some cars you can't drive or afford to fix at the moment? Sell one to fix the others imo.
Seriously? Thank you captain obvious!

The Neon is a replacement for my son who is currently driving a 1990 civic. I need to get him into the neon and get rid of the civic.
The 07 VW beetle convertible is going to be up for sale as soon as the top is fixed and is worth 7k!
The pickup was my primary vehicle before it started acting up. I need a truck for many things including contract work out of state.
