When I worked rural South Ga in the ‘60’s, a lot of the utility company workers carried a fishing rod and shotgun in their trucks. Never know when you’re going to get an invite from a customer to hunt or fish their property.
The locals also had two sayings,
’Here comes the power man, hide the whiskey’
and
’Here comes the ‘phone man, hide the women’
