I got my form 1 approved for SBR in just 33 days

Small file- the PDF is 120K, so way under the limit. It seems like the info I typed in just disappeared. Could be a system problem... could be an Internet Explorer problem. I can run all this again on Chrome at the office tomorrow.

At least I've got a registered login now.

IE never worked for me - of course it doesn't work for much of anything...

I'm not sure about Chrome, but FF works fine.

Actually I'm not even sure you need it engraved to sell. I know of one SOT who form 2 built an SBR, sold it on a form 4 and nothing was ever engraved. .

You submitted an application to build a short barreled rifle. You have a stamp giving you permission to build a short barreled rifle. Engraving is part of the building process but there isn't anything that says it must be done before assembly. I am still not even convinced that engraving is required.

I would build it tonight and engrave it tomorrow.
I am going to wait until I get it engraved first. I don't want to make a mistake about this. I want to do it right and not break any laws. But I agree engraving my rifle kind of sucks and I do have the go ahead from the ATF but still I don't want to do anything wrong.

I'll get it figured out one way or another.... I entered the SBR info and uploaded the Trust PDF, but nothing shows up and it tells me it's "Fetching Data" but doesn't actually show the entered data in the window. Could be a Thursday night problem and I should try again tomorrow.
Yeah bro the file may be too large. Try breaking it up into separate pdfs or what ever format you can get to work I had to do 3 to get mine to work.

I wish we had a ATF guy that could tell us on here for sure one way or the other. Wouldn't that be nice.

As I said, different opinion letters say different things. The ATF doesn't even fully understand what the law is. We all just do a bunch of crap just to CYA even if it isn't necessary because nobody wants to be the guinea pig that finally gets a determination from a judge.
