What am I missing? First it was .22 ammo, now it's .35 Remington. I mean what 's going on with this cartridge? I haven't seen it being used as a "weapon of mass destruction" at a school, military base, or by an Interstate sniper. Since the .35 is such a good brush cartridge, are they scared that we're going to be hiding behind every tree when they come for our guns? I don't shoot a lot like a lot of you guys do, but I do own a few rifles, hand guns, and shotguns, and I just wonder what's happening? Any answers............besides conspiracy theories...........many of which I'm a subscriber to some parts of, by the way?

Its just the fact that its a strange round thats not hugely popular. My dad had one and it was indeed a great gun but ammo became to hard to find/pricey so just went with the ol 30/30 which would be my advice to you to do the same. You can still find it online but be prepared to pay quiet a bit for it. Its reasons like this i got rid of all oddball/wildcat rounds. Last one was a 7mm S.A.U.M. that was a beauty to shoot but at $60+ a box and only having 1-2 ammo options, far from worth it.

If the .35 Remington hasn't yet gone the way of the 16-gauge shotgun shell, it will.

It's a good round that nobody seems to care about, and which isn't "cool" or "cutting edge" enough to get a lot of press in gun magazines and blogs.

I think the .35 Remington serves a niche in the close-range "brush gun" market, especially when loaded with 250 grain bullets and fired from rifles that are made with a rifling twist rate to stabilize those big heavy bullets.

Without the .35 Remington and other .35 caliber rifle calibers (.356 and .358 Win, .35 Whelen, etc.) somebody who doesn't reload is limited to using a .30 caliber with 180 grain bullets or a .44 or .45 caliber rifle that shoots 300-400 grain bullets.
What if you want something in between ?
