seriously doubt that 35 or 06 even come close to touching 30-30. Even if you combine them.
So......whose favorite caliber is next??

I'd go .30-30, .30-06, and then .22lr for all the Q-Beam poachers.
and I would venture to say that 243 and 270 have also taken more deer than 35 Remington.
22 mag on Superbowl Sunday. Gets deer every time.

Nothing like some poacher cut backstraps fresh from the field for the big game.
I did hear an interesting poacher story that involved a former Vietnam fighter pilot and his Cessna. Allegedly he and his buddies would fly over fields looking for deer. When they spotted some he would kill the engine and they would glide over them at a very low altitude and once they would get in range the door gunner would let loose. He'd fire up the engine and off they would fly off into the wild blue yonder.
I'm not saying that it was a popular cartridge, but it was/is my first deer rifle that I've had for 35+ years now, and I carry it more than my .270wsm, because of the brushy areas that I have always hunted. I've never lost a deer with it...............if I hit it.
