I just had a tree taken down because it was dying. Beetles killing it. You can hear them crunching the tree if you listen close. Video

They leave the tree in March or by April. Have to cut it down before then and burn the bark.
If you cut it down and the beetles aren't there then they left already.
I stayed at a Holiday inn last night.

Yes you can. It's like a little scraping sound as they are eating the critical parts of the tree trunk.
