A really good book, Jack Hinson’s one-man war, a civil war sniper by: Tom C McKenney. Has anybody else ever read it? Also do you have any recommendations that are similar to it?

Thank you for the recommendations sirGreat Book- a spiritual cousin to that is "A Rifleman Went to War" by Herbert McBride. WW1 soldier trained by the veterans of the Civil War and his experience in the big one.
Another one is a bit of a deviation from the theme, but Unintended Consequences by John Ross should be a priority read for all gun guys. Historical fiction about the 20th century regarding firearms and government overreach, 10/10 read. Hard to find.
I would love to go up there and see the ledge he shot from and the cave. Also would love to see that rifle.Read the book a few years ago. Amazing true story. The family still has the original gun in Tennessee. Not familiar with another book as good from civil war time.
I don’t think you will be disappointed with either one of them.I going to buy both, I was just going on line to buy books for the month of January, and then I read this thread, wow!
Yes he did, my favorite one were the two soldiers in the 100 acre field. Reloading and firing again in 6 seconds.Great book and true story, he made some great shots! I’ve read it a couple times!
