I kinda hate to do this but....................

Holding a zero really is not the issue with a CF wrapped barrel. Accuracy is not as consistent barrel to barrel for carbon wrapped, but they can be just as accurate as their steel counterparts. Your main CF barrel makers generally put out solid barrels. As always, the fly-by-nights struggle with consistent quality.

There is always a trade-off. CF wrapped barrels give you lighter rifles and more resistance to your barrel heating up versus steel barrels of the same weight. You may give up some consistency, but you may not as well.

Structured barrels are a different story and something that I stay away from at this time. That niche hasn't quite figured it out and still don't think there are many benefits to the whole idea anyways.

Quality of the carbon fiber.
Weave construction.
Application tension and pattern.
All play a part not to mention the pencil barrel underneath it.

Not sure I would trust one a decade old on some of the larger caliber rifles that has been shot alot.
Carbon fiber can deteriorate as well as becoming delaminated over time.

Now with that said...all the guns I have shot in the last 15 years with carbon fiber barrels have been exceptional as far as accuracy and zero retention but none were over a few years old.
(Some of this was training/competitive shooting so there definitely was some heat involved.)

Am I the only one that doesn't trust carbon fiber barrels to hold zero?
The Bergara that I have only has about 30 rounds through it, but it’s been dropped in the creek and in the swamp a couple of times while pig hunting and everything is still dead

I can't speak for every carbon fiber/carbon wrapped barrel, but I'd trust mine in my AR that I built for a hostage shot at 700 yards. YMMV

Its a proof research.
