Anyhow OP if you are near or want to come down and use it, you can fire off the M44 and see how you like it. If I still had my Finnish ones then you’d also be able to check out the M39. Perhaps someone has one here.

Personally though. If you’re planning on hunting, at what distance? Because if you really want some accuracy there is the Swiss K31 that you should seriously take a look at. IMO the absolute most accurate military surplus rifle of all the others. Next IMO would easily be the M39 heavier barrel.

Here's the deal. I have 1500 rounds of non corrosive 7.62x54r ammo and nothing to shoot it with. Just looking for something to sling bullets downrange. A pie plate at 100 is fine since it will just be a back up for a lot of other back ups.

You could just gift me that ammo….

Been watching videos on the SVT 40 and I find them to be too unreliable for me. I'd rather have the Mosin M44 with bayonet.
