I need some 1911 schooling.

My first was a Taurus. Still have it. IMHO, one of the best values in a 1911.

Then a compact RIA for carry. Solid gun. Reliable. Shot it so much I had to replace the recoil spring.

Then I got a 10mm Springfield Omega 6". Unicorn.

Then an AMT Hardballer Longslide. Another unicorn.

Then a Citadel in 9mm. Very solid. Economical shooter.

Then a Walther in .22. Suppressor host.

Just can't seem to make the stretch to the higher end guns. But I love the 1911 platform. And you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to enjoy it.

Thanks. I added those Right after I got it. They're VZ, I think I've seen one or two more floating around here wearing them. I've been contemplating a black reverse two tone on it too.

Pic above is the Talo Edition . My Unicorn

All good suggestions. Another vote for the loaded Springer. It's just slightly better than the Ruger IMO but does cost more. Taurus actually makes a great 1911 and you get a lot of bang for your buck but I'd switch out the sights and grips on one if it were me.

Good luck!

Go straight to Springfield A1 loaded, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. They have the best triggers going bar none. That Ruger looks sweet but go put your hands on both and then make a decision. My money says the Springfield will win over with the trigger and fit.
