Ok, i have a little compulsion that some people i know use against me. If i see a firearm that's dirty, cruddy or just all around nasty, i want to clean it up. And this leads to problems of a financial nature.
Like yesterday, a good buddy of mine shows up at the house with an Italian cacarno carbine, yes the little ugly one with the flimsy bayonet under the barrel. He just picked it up at an estate sell for, wait for it, $50! Now this thing is FUGLY! the bore is caked with what looks like mud and axel grease and the bolt will hardly turn and slide to the rear. Then he asked the question, '' will you clean it up.for me and see if its any good??". Like I'm even able to say No at this point. So cut to the end, its. 3 hours later and I'm holding this thing in my hands and while the stock is still ugly as all get out, the action is smooth as can be and the bore is PRISTINE! So now i wanna buy it and i keep offering.him cash for.it. I'm up to $175.00 now but he still says no.
I see this ending with me in the dog house and one peeved off misses.
