I shipped ammo to some guy.

I've had ammo shipped to me recently from Cabelas . Out of 900rds, half of it was out of the boxes rolling around loose. I call BS on damaged ammo.

you are require to disclose and subsequently pay for shipping certain hazardous items. ... thats what the ORM-D is for

IIRC, UPS makes the shipper start the claim process.

I personally had UPS break a cast iron bell housing on a palatalized transmission I had shipped to me.

had a few boxes like that from midway usa i called them and they sent me new boxes of ammo like what was loose to replace them.
the ammo probably isn't damaged but the box has a chance of being damaged as it made of cardboard(if that happened I'd just send some of those plastic ammo boxes to him enough to hold the lose ammo

UPS delivered a package I shipped said to contain150 ar mags, when the guy signed for it it was empty with a big hole in the side. UPS denied the claim, and I counl't get the guy to answer why he would sighn for an empty box with a hole in the side.

that was my thought... in that case, i would be careful if I was the OP calling up UPS and telling them I shipped a prohibited item.

And they are in lies the dilemma. Do you call them and say "hello UPS, I committed a federal crime and shipped hazardous materials without notifying you. It was damaged. Can you please replace it?"

lol. Funny how often that happens. :p

If nothing else I learned something here... if someone asks me to ship ammo, I will be very clear that it isn't my problem what the box looks like when it arrives at their door.
