Do it! Last I checked, NFA items have not gone down in price. Buy it, use it, sell it in 5 yrs and make a buck. M16's and other FA's have increased in price by 20% in the last few years - not a bad investment.

I don't suppose it would save any cost (or if it's even possible) to find a stripped M16 lower receiver? Sounds like a perfect candidate for an SBR-registered multi-cal lower.

For class 3, get a MAC. You can pick up an M11 for around 4 grand or so. Just for god's sake get a rate reducer or you WILL go broke. fast.

you can but there is a scarcely a difference in price. The upper is only about 2% of the cost of a registered. Don't recall ever seeing a multi cal registered one but I have never heard of anyone getting any problems firing difference cals.

If your serious about a form 4 machine gun a M11/9 with a Lage upper is about the cheapest quasi-tactical entry into this market...

Or buy a Mac 11 for $300 and anytime you fire two handed its a bump fire bonanza, I had one and it was a bumpfiring champ with one hand on the barrel extension.
