A very good friend of mine is starting to suffer the effects of PTSD after 4 tours of duty in Iraq & Afghanistan. He was involved in the Battle Of Fallujah fighting house to house, he can't talk about it but he asked me to read this article to get some perspective on his thoughts. Yeah sorry...I'm not a liberal. I just don't agree with unconstitutional police actions and I also don't enjoy violence. Not saying sometimes it isn't required and necessary, if you enjoy it however you have some wires loose in your noggin.

As to enjoying violence...no one is so crazy as to sign on for something that they will never enjoy, ever.

I agree m88dad, my son-in-law just came back from two tours in afg and did two tours in iraq with the marines out of Lejune. I did not include ALL people on this forum, just those that offend me about the men that do a job that I am no longer capable of doing. I give praise to them and feel humble in their presence. God bless them all.

I had the same issue.

I went from spending 15 straight months doing things I used to watch in movies, to coming home and watching people make big deals out of the littlest things. It's a hard adjustment.

You from being "the man" to being another face in the crowd.

People you encounter have no idea what you have done.

You go to work and watch people make big deals out of nothing and then people wonder why you don't care....

War is REAL, it's raw and I have honestly never felt so alive.

Sure thing guys, I'm glad it was shared with me. When I read this it gave me a new perspective on what my friends and some of my family are dealing with. I've had some friends who tried to explain their feelings to me but couldn't get it out like they wanted to, this writer was able to put it in print in a way that most can't say outloud.
