Not to downplay the reason for the near disasster, but I'm surprised the 9mm round stayed in battery - at least firmly enough to provide resistance for the firing pin. Now........where was I....

Did the same thing only ,put a 9 in a 40.......soon as it went off I knew I had screwed up......

I shot a 40 in a 1911 and kept the shell casing to remind me. However, they shoot real soft and are easy to load.

Yea I knew something wasn't right when it went off and sounded like a .22, the round wouldn't fully eject either. Just glad I wasn't trying to shoot .300blk in a .556

I did the same thing, put a 9mm in a .40 cal gun. Sounded like someone farted.
