My old man worked most of his career with IBM, and his favorite gun he never had is an M1 Carbine. I'd like to gift him one if someone's got one they're willing to part with. Thanks ODT.

You bet! I had a few 25 or 30 years ago. I know there was a Singer or some sewing machine company, an Inland and I think an IBM. I would need a new stock as I rattle canned it black when I was a young pup.
