By "correct ammo" I assume you mean 6.5x50mm Arisaka? It's not the same as 6.5X52mm Carcano (or Parravicini–Carcano). The Empire of Japan contracted for the rifles chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka. Just to be clear.Good evening gentlemen. I agree wholeheartedly it is a 6.5 carcano. I Have the bolt assembled and cleaned. I also have the correct Ammo on the way for the boy to shoot a pig with. I suppose the Italians could have made a similar rifle for their own military and it could be chambered in 6.5x52mm, but the rifle pictured in the OP isn't nearly goofy looking enough to be an Italian Army rifle.
