hey everyone, I am starting to throw around ideas for the format of the second (official this time) ODT postal match, where the proceeds will go to the forum. I am looking to see what type of shooting would interest the biggest group of members here.

Rifle? With or without optics? Benchrest?

Pistol? What distance? Any type of target?

Mix of both?

Let me know what you would like to do for the second shoot, I still have a bunch of targets and envelopes left over so I could probaby do a second match and keep the costs low enough so send the ODT a good chunk of change :)

Another forum I'm on does this monthly. They have two categories Rimfire and Centerfire. Inside the Categories they have classes:

There are Two Optics Divisions:
->Iron sights and non-magnified optics and red dots. Shot at 50yds.
->Scopes and other magnified sighting devices. Shot at 100yds.

There are Two Rifle Classes:
->Unlimited/Target Rifles (highly modified rifles, rests, target sights, high magnification optics- over 10x [in the appropriate division] may be used)
->Sporting Rifles (Includes All Non-Target Class Autoloaders, Bolt Actions, Single Shots, Pumps, & Lever Rifles)

Both classes can be shot from any position. Rests/Sandbags/bipods are permitted in the Target Class only.

as far as pistol, not sure how to separate it...?

Personally I'd like to see a rifle at 100yds from any position, Iron Sights and Pistol at 25yd, Iron Sights. I've got a Beretta NEOS and a K31 that would be real competitive.

Iron sights are the way to go, it shows real skill level.

I would like to see one handed at 25yrds with pistol and unsupported rifle at 100yrds (no rest, sandbags etc only the rifle and the person)

How about a 5x5x5x5 drill? 5 shots in a 5" circle from 5 yards 5 times, with a j frame or equivilant, from low ready. A warm-up set is allowed to check poi/poa.
