That does look like a toadfish and I would let DNR know.

People that release non-natives really need to be castrated, slowly.

It's definitely not a flathead catfish. It does look like some variation of toadfish but I thought they were much smaller.

Regardless, that is one ugly fish. Sounds like some "non-native" was stocking Lanier with his favorite fish from back home. Freaking idiots!

Toadfish, you'll see them being sold as freshwater lionfish. They eventually need brackish to marine conditions so was pretty much doomed in lanier, even if winter didnt kill it. Probably grew too big for someone to handle in their aquarium.
