There's so many holster out there and I don't know what to choose. I got a new glock 19 Gen 4 and want a iwb and a nice owb . Anyone recommend anything? What was you favorite? Mainly only use the owb when hunting and was thinking on a leg holster. I've never.used one but think it would be nice and out of the way. .

I know it's been talked about numerous times so if you get offended please forgive me.

A good gun belt will support the holster and gun and won't roll over from the weight of the gun. This means top grain leather or reinforced nylon construction.

I've heard talk of a good belt or gun belt. What exactly does that mean?

Gun belts are purpose built to support the weight of a gun and keep it upright like it should. They don't flex much at all. They're typically thicker too. And can be had with or without a kydex liner.

Using the one I wear as an example. It's a Beltman belt that I had made in 2007. I wear it every single day. So I have definitely got my money worth out of it. It's 1.5" wide and 1/4" thick double layer bull hide. I can take it off and hold the two ends in one hand and hold it out like a hula hoop. It doesn't sag like a single layer belt would.

There are many custom leather holster makers out there who can make you an heirloom quality leather holster. They will all have wait times.

Most will be able to make you their version of a few different styles of leather holster iwb or owb. (Pancake, askins avenger, etc.) Either one of these owb styles would serve you well with a good belt as a field holster.

These guys also make the type of gun belt you are looking for.

Just google Custom leather holster makers.

For iwb carry you can go kydex or leather, but the main thing to look for is a good design that spreads the weight out. Most people who carry daily go through numerous holsters before they find one they are happy with.
