You'll knock your shoulder off kid.........It is a beautiful rifle. If it's one of those made in Italy, should be a good gun. I have no idea of recoil, just guessing. I do have a 458 WIN MAG. But it weighs 11lbs and it has a recoil pad. I noticed that one weighs 9lbs. Better than the 7 most levers weigh in this case
