Interested in a CZ pistol?

I also have a Tri star and in deed they are a real close copy of Cz and perform just as well with a tad bit better trigger out of the box. Meprolight night sites that fit my 75 s and Phantom will not fit the rear. The cut on the 100 is wider, the front with a bit of filling will work.

Thanks for sharing your experience with night sights. Several folks have reported success with front and rear, but I'll just have to see how it goes.

Thx for post I was curious about the VZ s fit . I purchased mine as a truck gun and didnt expect that Its performance would be well beyond expectations. After about 500 flawless rounds through it I now use it as my CCW.

Thanks to this thread, I picked one up my father's day present today... I agree with most of what has been said here, fit and finish is quite nice, better than one could reasonably expect for the price.

I haven't shot it yet, but my initial impressions:
1) Overall the gun is "stiff". While the frame to slide and barrel fitment are good, the springs all seem very tight. Tight to the point where, I found it difficult to lock the slide back until I really started looking at things. Hopefully this will relax as I run some rounds through it. I'm also very interested to hear about how the spring kit from Cajun gunworks comes out.

2) It's small, but not excessively so. I have ham-hands, but they are short. Consequently, I've always been a fan of the CZ/Hi-Power design as it feels very comfortable. Ultimately my plan is for this to become my wife's pistol, as it fits her very well, but we'll have to see how that works out.

3) I'm a big fan of the Hogue rubber grips, and thinking about getting a set for this. Would I just get the same as you would use on a CZ-75 compact?

4) I looked at the link for Greg Cote and aside from sticking out a bit, would it be safe to assume these will work with the C-100?

5) The trigger... This is where I would somewhat disagree with what others posted just based on my own personal example. The trigger pull is fairly grungy with some creep. It's not un-usable, but it's certainly not what others have characterized in their reviews. Mine may be an odd one, I may have overly high expectations, but there is certainly room for improvement with this one. This alone may lead me to give the Cajun Gunworks guys a call. What would you guys recommend from them, just the springs and a fluff/buff, the race-hammer, or more/different stuff?

As it came home today... (please excuse the crappy cell-phone pic)

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Glad to hear that you picked one up. As you, I found the initial quality solid. Out of the box the action is stiff, partly due to springs, but some break in time will help.

The trigger is a bit gritty, but that's where the fluff & buff helps. I have already done some of this to the slide rails, and there are a few key points to hit that will really pay off in improved feel. I havent started on this yet as I am at the beach this week. I didn't want stuff being delivered when I was out of town. Sometime next week I hope to have the springs and polishing work done.

Personally I wouldn't pay for all the work from Cajun Gun Works. The benefit of this pistol is the balance of cost and quality, and doubling the cost with gunsmith labor messes that up. Order the parts and handle the work yourself and you'll be happy with the end result.

Last - the mags should fit and hang out. CZ 14 rounders fit flush. Yes grips for a compact will fit.

I'd be very interested in seeing what exactly you are doing to yours so I can learn/replicate it.
I completely agree on doing your own work on these. One of the big reasons I picked this up is that if I make a mistake I'm not gonna cry about dinging up a $300 gun, so this whole thing will be a project to learn on over time.

The trigger on these are by no means a good trigger out of the box but neither was any of my sa/ da czs. They will get better with time . If you will go to the cz forum there are several trigger job tutorials that will make these a whole lot better. A little off the sear angle and a litlle off the hammer hooks 15 pound wolf hammer spring and you have a nice trigger for about $15. As far as being tight it will loosen up.
