I spent some time last night taking this pistol apart and and learning a little. The new parts didn't come with instructions, and since I hadn't torn fully torn down this pistol before I had to take my time. As usual when I get my head into something like this I cant stop to take pictures of what I'm doing. It screws up my thought process and makes me forget things.
Here's the short version - I installed the new springs after figuring out where each went. I polished a few areas using info I found online. I haven't completely finished, but the result so far is a much better working piece. At the moment I don't have a way to measure the trigger pull, but by feel I'm pegging the DA at between 8 and 9 pounds. The SA pull is 4 pounds or less. The DA travel is more usuable. In stock form it was heavy and had an abrupt break. The travel is more progressive and breaks more cleanly and predictably. Not bad for $30 and a little work.
I didnt feel comfortable tearing down the trigger on the first go round, so after I run a few more rounds through this thing I plan to tear it down again and polish a few pieces more thoroughly.
I'll put together the info I found in another post for anyone who wants to give this a try.
