I will almost always side with any dog that gets shot… but it looked to me like the cop went from “smell my hand” to getting bit. I agree with the couple guys that would like more info before passing judgement.
They can get a new dog. Why does he have to stay in his car? He is a human and the superior being in this scenario. The dog crossed out of its “property” to another yard. The dog approached in an aggressive manner. This is clearly a white trash neighborhood akin to a trailer park. Look closely. Hate it but I am sure the cop worked in the area all the time and already knew the score with the Clampetts and Fido. I agree the dog was doing what it does. Get a new one. It’s a ****ing dog. I am no fan of the police but everyone becomes irrational bitches about dogs. They are dogs.

There's no excuse for shooting a dog like that when you have pepper spray. A tiny squirt would send the dog running home.
I'd honestly rather get bit and take a little trauma, then to put those innocent kids through that situation, not to mention the risk of ricochet.
But even that's completely unnecessary when you literally carry and are trained to use pepper spray. It's inexcusable but bootlickers gonna bootlick.
It's a cowardly act, there's no man behind that badge, just a scared little boy pretending to be an adult.
