Iraqis going Whacky Already

This is what happens when you let Politicians Dictate War Strategy. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq 1 & 2, Afganistan. Politics and War don't mix. If your going to go to War, then Defeat your Enemy and let the Politicians Deal with what's left.

I say we just send the politicians next time. :heh: Let Obama lead the first wave. :pound:

Still hoping for an Iraqi Kurdish state.

So very, very true. Got me a new sig line. Thanks.

We got what we wanted, permanent airbases, and a stronghold on their natural resources (oil). Gee Dubya didn't care about wmd's or Hussein. If "fighting evil and opression" was really at the top of the list, Rwanda would have gotten major attention....too bad for the Rwandan people they didn't have anything we wanted buried beneath their feet. We could have actually done some real good there. But no, we go into Iraq, turn it into a giant cluster**** and leave.

why could we have done some good in rwanada? its not our place to police the world. also what oil are you talking about? you mean the oil iraq gets to keep or the oil deposited/sold to the rest of the world? the US gets the majority of its oil from central america, canada, and most natural gas from russia. the reason being is shipping. it makes more sense to get it from a closer source than to pay to have it shipped halfway around the world.

that blood for oil rhetoric your spouting has limited substance and no true understanding of how the oil industry works. whether or not you agree on iraq is one thing, but to claim that bush and his close nit group of political advisers somehow construed some crazy ass conspiracy funded by haliburton or some dumb non-sense like that to go to another nation and remove a dictator to only hold the land and resources for less than a decade?

maybe im reading into to much, but thats generally the idea behind the oil argument

Well to start with, averting genocide is a worthy cause.
So Hessein is gone, and we left a country in turmoil. No WMD's, no nuclear bombs, just an agenda. Funny that you mentioned some specific contractors that happened to make billions off of the war.
It seems that you may not understand how important politics are in acquiring oil. You stated that it was costly to ship, so much of our oil comes from "nearby" sources. Check out number 2 on the list. Last time I checked we weren't next door to Saudi Arabia, we are however, very tight with the Sheik. I guess we have figured out a majical way to ship oil from Saudi Arabia that makes it cheaper.
Sources of US oil:
CANADA
SAUDI ARABIA
MEXICO
VENEZUELA
NIGERIA
COLOMBIA
IRAQ
ECUADOR
ANGOLA
RUSSIA
BRAZIL
KUWAIT
ALGERIA
CHAD
OMAN

we use petrol-products over-seas. ya know we got bases all around the world. where are you getting your data? is this oil purchased by government or is it totaling all receipts spent with US currency?

and what do you mean we left a nation in turmoil

sounds to me like it was all sunshines and rainbows before we got there right? no, but we,americans or the united states government, is somehow responsible for iraq being the asshole of the world
