From reading a previous post I know that some of you have a problem with low iron. Now I do too. Not life threatening yet but my blood cells count, hemoglobin, etc. have been going down for about 2 years. My doctor prescribed SlowFe but it constipates me. I'm taking a lower dose of another iron supplement and my regularity is good but the dose may not be enough for my needs. Is anyone taking a high dose supplement that doesn't constipate you? I've also been eating more red meat and leafy greens. It seems that as we age (I'm in my 70's) our digestive systems don't absorb nutrients as well as they did when we were younger.
BTW some sources say to take a vitamin C tablet with iron supplements to help absorption. Any experience with that?
