Is it time to rejoin the NRA

We damned sure need some kind of renown organization out there that everyone recognizes. Something the anti-gunners are scared of like the NRA used to be.
If we don’t …..we are screwed. Even worse than we are now.
We have to have some kind of “organization” . We must be organized against the anti-gunners , somehow.

I'm a Life Member but I stopped donating anything after the scandals came out.

I just sent them my first check in years though. The new leadership is just what this organization needs and they seem to be on track to do all the right things.

I'm also a member of SAF, FPC and even GOA (thank God they've changed their ways too) but we NEED the NRA alive and healthy.

None of the other groups focus on the legislatures like the NRA does. All the other groups are focusing on court cases, which is great. We need that.

But we also need someone who can twist arms in the various legislatures, and the only one who does that is the NRA. We need them to be able to tell a congress-weasel they have 10 million members, all of voting age.

And lets not forget that the NRA lost more money last year than all the other state and national gun rights groups had in income... combined. Even after loosing millions of members they are still the 800lb gorilla in the room. The rest are all small fry.

So yeah, I'll do everything I can to help them get back on their feet. Sure, I'd like to have seen WLP in jail, but the same is true for HRC and I don't expect that to happen.

If these reformers can get the NRA's act together that'll be enough for now.

Also need a high visibility organization to be the boogieman for all the anti-gunners.
So the other organizations can keep working behind the scenes.

Absolutely !! I agree with all of this.

GOA is the no compromise gun Rights organization. They actually fight the battles.

I’m a lifetime member and it’s primarily because of Charlton Heston. I joined when he was the president and it was the best thing going for the 2A loving people.

It’s the 1% in everything that screws it up for the rest.
Charlatan Heston endorsed the Brady Bill and once he was on a radio program wherein he stated three times that nobody had a legitimate reason to own an AK 47 style rifle. Needless to say, that was ONE of the issues that made me leave and not look back. Next time I can tell you the other thing that drove me away.

When the NRA starts to be a non profit again and focuses on teaching gun safety and the benefits of gun ownership.........that day i will gladly rejoin, but till then stop calling me and asking me for money!!!! It's turned into what we hate about Unions.
