Is this an ODT member that was charged?

Suspicion of criminal trespassing, out on bond. He took the ride but I dont think he will have a problem beating it, unless the park is private property.

I hope not. It brings up argument between open carry and conceal carry. Open carry is legal l, but more frustrating due to ignorance of people. Just my2 cents

Funny that his carry permit had the wrong birthday on it. Funny that he refused to provide a driver's license, and the only identification he had was invalid.

Also funny that he was being evasive and standoffish to the police, and is a big advocate of open carry (based on his signature on the website after the jump).

Wonder if the ride was worth it to him. Seems like the cops covered their bases on everything except the charge he was arrested for haha.

You might not have read the entire thread, but his birth date was written on the application in the format of day/month/year, since he is former military. It was an honest mistake, but still lead to the confusion.

Why would it be "funny" that he refused to provide a Drivers License? He was not driving, he gave them a valid state issued ID, with an explanation about he date format. which was then verified by the officer.

He was conducting a completely legal activity, and was not "out to provoke" anybody or "make a scene".

He was asked to leave a publicly owned park, because a private security guard did not want him there while in possession of a weapon, whether it was open or concealed. He was told, by the security guard, that Sugar Hill does not allow weapons in the park. That is completely wrong and against state law, on the guards part.

He was also charged at the scene with "Felony Criminal Trespass", a charge that does not exist in Georgia!!!!

It will be interesting to watch this unfold, but I see no reason to start blaming the gentleman for the ignorance of the security guard.
