IT SUX GETTING OLD

Torn rotator cuff in both shoulders, both from falls. Not going through surgery on either as long as I can tolerate the pain. Arthritis in most every joint, hip replaced in 2018, two bad discs in my back for years now. If it weren't for all the meds I take my movement would be pretty much nonexistent. Still I am grateful every day for all the little things in my life and most especially God's grace in it. Stopped smoking probably 15 years ago and man it feels so good every time I take a deep breath! Guess at 63 things could be much worse! Hang in there brother, and have faith that it'll all work out!

Popped a shoulder tendon( bicep I think) in my right shoulder this morning.. I knew soon as it happened it was either my upper bicep muscle( where it ties into my shoulder) or my tendon.. no bruising yet.. so that leads me to believe it’s my tendon turned loose.. have slight dip there in my arm.. a few years ago I tore the muscle in the same arm where it attaches to my elbow.. there was bruising then.. sux getting old fellers
Ouch! Not good. I ripped both my rotator cuffs. That was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. The next thing was a hamstring. The hamstring left my whole left leg deeply bruised. I couldn't do squats for 2 months. It was black, red and purple for weeks. I don't remember any bruising with rotator cuffs though. I also tore my fibular tendon at the chin and knee. That was very painful and took me away from squats as well. Most my injuries were a direct result of body building. Except the hamstring, it was tore when I was fly fishing and slipped on a slick rock. I felt the pop but didn't even realize it had really tore untill the deep bruising set in. I felt no pain with that injury at all. Weird!

Injuries are just part of lifting weights I reckon. Just take it slow and refrain from any exercise that puts strain on that tendon. It sux but you just have to work on something else you feel is not to your liking to take your mind of it. Hope it heals quickly so you can get back to your normal routine. 🙏

You are 63 and don't have pain in your rotator cuffs? My old injured rotator cuffs are haunting me now badly. If I put any weight down on my elbows for any length of time I am screwed. That's a nagging pain on its best day. I might have to have it looked at if it gets any worse. I think they can remove the scar tissue and it's suppose to take care of it. That's what they tell me anyway.

My left hip is bothering me as well. I think that's from playing golf and driving my hips through the golf ball. I can't do a whole lot of walking or it start bothering me as well. If I will wear a really good shoes it helps a little bit. The other one is starting to show signs of wear as well but it's just to the point where it's starting to get a little pain in there but not much. I'm wondering just how long I can go without having to have it looked at. Don't even get me started on my lower back it's screwed, glued and tattooed.

As far as rotator cuff goes, I have had my left one done three times !! And right one once..
They both hurt like hell !! But now they are somewhat ok. Put it this way : they work.
You have to understand though about my joints and tendons , etc., all of them suck ! I have torn, broke, crushed, ripped, had repaired or replaced everything in my shoulders a few times ….. my lower spine a few times…. Hips once….knees a couple of times (not counting childhood - where I was in braces for 7 years at the age of 2 - 9 ) .

Yeah, it all sucks !! lol.
I wish you the best, I really do !!

And I thought I had a lot of old injuries! God bless you bubba. You need some prayer so I will add you to the ( need to pray for ) list. 🙏

Thank you sir !
Yeah, along with the latest seizure disorders , I can’t drive anymore or do much of anything by myself so I just sit and watch tv and screw around in my den/gun room.
It gets boring as hell sometimes but it beats the alternatives. I try to be positive about things.
I say to myself : at least I’m not in the hospital, at least I can still do this and that, etc., etc.,

Oh yes sir I have pain in both, but through the years of hurting from many different sources I've developed a pretty high tolerance for pain. I guess between all the Diclofenac, Duloxetine, and Pregabalin I take twice a day I've been able to tolerate things ok. Occasionally I'll forget a dose of my meds and can absolutely tell it before my next dose comes along! Surgery will be my last resort, hopefully I can continue to endure the pain!

Hip replacement was the best thing I've ever had done, zero pain since the surgery. And I walked on a very painful bad hip for 6 years before I could afford to have it done........

I was at the orthopedic surgeon the other day and two guys came in missing legs and all kinds of other parts. They were perfectly healthy when they went into the hospital got into a septicemic condition and lost limbs over the ordeal. It was from unsterile conditions inside the operating room. They both got lawyers but to no avail the lawyers told them they wouldn't get a dime. 🤬 So I'm trying to avoid surgery altogether. It would be my luck to go in to have surgery done and come out with no arms or legs, just my head on a truncated midsection. 🤣🤣
