It was a rattlesnake

I know it was a RATTLESNAKE AND I KNOW ITS DEAD.. but what kind is it? I cut the rattles off .. 5 rattles and a button

I’ve never skinned and ate one.. but the next time I find one I’ll save it and maybe we can eat him together if your interested.. had one Thursday outside our other work building that they let get away.. CANEBRAKE I think it was.. I saw the picture of it. It was huge.. gray and black.. said it was close to 5 ft they thought..
 
Looks like a Timber to me as well. Canebrakes are usually more pinkish or greysih with a yellow/brown stripe going down the back. I always look for the stripe.
 
Out riding the motorcycle and saw him.. he was fresh.. maybe the one at work wasn’t a canebrake.. it wasn’t a diamondback for sure.. it was gray with with black markings.. which ones are like that?
