Item Description: I hate to let this beauty go . . but I will not shed a tear if it has to go back in the safe either.

For sale: Smith and Wesson Model 629-6 Trail Boss - rare limited edition run. From what I understand from speaking with S&W several years ago, this was a limited run of only 1000 units done in 2002. The writing on the barrel is laser etched instead of stamped and on the opposite side of the barrel from where it normally would be. This gun is in very good condition, a few light handling marks, locks up tight, and has a shiny bore with crisp rifling. It is probably 95% as new and un-molested. I have never fired this myself, but it appears to have been shot very little by the previous owner.

Certainly on Gunbroker, you could probably get that easily. That place is nuts. Hard to know where to price this one at, there is so little to go by and so few of these made. But, we will see what happens I guess.

This is all I have been able to find on line about this model. Apparently this guy came up with the same information that I did and his gun is identical to mine.

I found it in the catalogue (SCSW 3rd edition), it just says that it was mfg in 2003 as an RSR exclusive....blah, blah, .....has all the features listed . Does NOT tell how many produced but it does show that there were several different models of that 629-6 Trailboss . They have the fluted cylinder, unfluted cylinder, deluxe anniversary edition, and they say that they are limited run but no numbers.
Im gonna dig a little more.

Thanks! I am pretty sure the lady I spoke with told me 2002. But, I could be wrong. Serial number is CFDXXXX.

I'm thinking if it was a RSR, It would have it under the top strap. Also saying it's a Satin finished SS.
