Item Description: This 1997 Hummer H1 extended cab is the perfect trail rig. It has a 4 inch lift, new shocks/springs and sits on 42 inch Super Swampers. This is the civilian version of the Hummer not the military version. Basically the same truck but with a nicer interior than the military version. It being a 1997 model unfortunately suffered from the dreaded 8th cylinder issues so the original diesel was removed and a new 6.5 turbo was professionally installed approximately 750 miles ago. This truck will run highway speeds ( 65-70 mph) but is a bit harder to handle than the average car. You actually have to drive this one rather than just ride. That said, when you merge into traffic.......everyone moves over. Overall it is a solid truck that was neglected for some time but after all the recent work is getting back on par with some of the other H1's out there. This machine is no beauty queen but attracts a crowd where she goes. $37.5K obo

The Good:
New 6.5 Turbo Diesel 08/2016
Complete Transmission and Transfer case professional rebuild 08/2016
Temp gauge installed in transmission during rebuild
New Exterior paint
New exhaust pipe
New Starter
New water pump
New hoses
New thermostats
New fan clutch
New Engine oil cooler and transmission cooler
New Glow plugs and glow controller
New Oil cooler hoses
New serpentine belt
New crankshaft pulley
New U-joints
New rear control arms both sides
New front half shafts both sides
All new and recently replaced shocks/springs/ball joints/tie rod ends/ radius arms/pittman arm/idler arm/steering link
All four geared hubs rebuilt with new input/output seals and new spindles on all four hubs
Batteries have been moved to passenger rear storage compartment
Radiator upgraded to all aluminum
Wheels upgraded to two piece 12 bolt military wheels
Detroit Air Lockers on the front

The Bad:
Currently only the aux gas tank is installed ( ?15 gallon). The main gas tank needs installed. I will include a brand new main gas tank with all the needed hardware/sending unit
The AC was not hooked back up after the engine swap. A new AC condenser and new lines will be needed ( I will include the original compressor plus a NOS compressor)
If used as a daily driver, the tires will need replacing within 5-10k miles. There is a flat spot on the driver front tire and some cracking noted throughout. That said all four hold air and perform as they should at highway speeds ( I will include one brand new 42 inch super swamper with purchase).
The interior is worn and dated. Stains, scratches, dirt abound. It would likely do well with a good cleaning.
The brakes are starting to squeal some ( I will include a complete set of NIB brake pads for the main brakes and emergency brake).
The tailgate hinges needs installing ( pair of NOS hinges included with sale)
